  • Receptionists without proper training can hold up the process, resulting in lost leads.
  • The ASR will stay on the phone during transfer to ensure the connection.

Worth Knowing: Receptionist Role

The receptionist's role is critical to the success of any call center initiative. Receptionists will generally serve as a middle person. So it is essential that he or she finds an available rep immediately upon hearing that TASC is on the phone. Once the call goes through to the rep, the ASR from TASC will communicate the type of lead (OutReach, FirstConnect or ReConnect), the prospect's name, program of interest and any other critical information. The ASR will then stay on the phone to ensure the connection. The ASR finishes by introducing the prospect to the rep and wishing the prospect well in reaching their career goals.

It is imperative that the person at the receptionist desk knows to transfer calls from TASC immediately. Even if he or she normally gets lead information, the information for TASC leads is either already in the database (ReConnect and FirstConnect) or will be sent almost immediately. If they do not transfer our calls immediately, the program simply will not work. If your receptionists do not have the proper training and instruction, they will hold up the process and leads will be lost.
